FAQ

Frequently asked questions

How much does overnight parking cost for a campervan in Poland?

Overnight parking in Poland averages 40-80 PLN per night at a camper parking and 80-150 PLN at a full-service campsite. Baltic coast prices in July-August reach up to 180 PLN, while off-season spots start from 30 PLN. Some camper parkings in smaller towns are free of charge.

Can I park a campervan overnight at Biedronka or Lidl?

Officially, Biedronka, Lidl, Kaufland and Auchan lots are for shopping customers only. A single-night stay (no awning, no outdoor furniture) is usually tolerated if you speak to security first. Safer options are the 70 dedicated camper parkings on our map and motorway service areas (MOP).

Where can I legally park a campervan overnight in Poland?

Legal overnight parking is allowed at dedicated camper parkings, campsites, biwak fields and private properties with owner consent. Wild camping is illegal in state forests (outside marked zones) and national parks. Our map marks 1,062 verified legal overnight locations across Poland and Europe.

What is a dump station and where can I find one?

A dump station is a designated site for emptying the cassette toilet and grey water tank. Poland has 54 such points, mostly at campsites, camper parkings and motorway service areas (MOP). About 60% are free, the rest charge 5-15 PLN per use. All are mapped on this page.

Are there many free camper parkings in Poland?

Free camper parkings in Poland are relatively rare — about 15-20 out of 70 dedicated parkings are free. These typically lack infrastructure (no power, water or dump). The highest density of free spots is in Warmia, the Bieszczady Mountains and at municipal lakeside parkings.

What are the best campsites in Poland for a campervan?

Top-rated campervan campsites are on the Baltic coast (Rowy, Pobierowo, Łeba), in Masuria (Mikołajki, Giżycko) and near the Tatras (Zakopane, Poronin). Lesser Poland has 141 campsites, West Pomerania 83, Pomerania 60 — browse the full directory with guest ratings at the bottom of this page.

Can I park a campervan by a lake in Masuria?

In Masuria, lakeside parking is legal only at designated spots — 54 such locations are on our map. Most are campsites on lakes Śniardwy, Niegocin, Mamry and Tałty. Wild camping in Masurian landscape parks is prohibited and carries fines up to 500 PLN.

Where can I refill LPG for a campervan in Poland?

Poland has one of Europe's densest LPG networks — over 6,000 stations, most with ACME/DISH nozzles suitable for campervans. Our map shows 60 verified LPG stations on major tourist routes. Average LPG price is 2.80-3.20 PLN per litre.

Are mountain campsites open in winter?

Only a portion of mountain campsites operate year-round — around 25 of 141 in Lesser Poland and 12 of 65 in Lower Silesia. Winter campsites offer heated sanitary blocks and 16A power hook-ups rated for electric heaters. Filter for year-round locations in Zakopane, Karpacz and Szklarska Poręba.

How long does emptying the tank at a dump station take?

Emptying the cassette toilet takes 2-5 minutes, and grey water (shower, sink) 5-10 minutes depending on pressure. Refilling a 100-120 litre fresh water tank takes 8-15 minutes. The full routine (dump + refill) usually takes 20-30 minutes.

What are the low emission zones (SCT) for campervans in Poland?

Since 2024, Warsaw has a central low emission zone (SCT) — campervans with Euro 5 or newer engines enter without restrictions. Kraków plans its SCT from 2026. Most new MAN TGE campervans meet Euro 6d, so there are no issues entering low emission zones across Poland and Europe.

Does Park4Night work in Poland?

Yes, Park4Night has around 800 user-submitted points in Poland, but data can be outdated and many entries are illegal wild-camping spots. Our map offers 1,062 verified locations — only legal parkings, campsites and service points. For best coverage, use both tools in parallel.
