Opolskie is Poland's smallest voivodeship but packs intense Silesian-German culture — Opole (the Polish Song Festival, historic Old Town), Mt. St.
Anne (pilgrimage site and Silesian Uprising monument), Paczków (”the Polish Carcassonne” — preserved medieval walls), Nysa, and Kłodzko just across the Lower Silesia border.
The Opawskie Mountains (landscape reserve with Biskupia Kopa, 889 m a.s.l.) offer hiking and cycling, while Lake Turawa serves water-recreation appetites.
For campervan travellers the region is quiet, not overrun with tourists, with cheap campsites and friendly agritourism.
The region is a transit hub — A4 (Wrocław–Opole–Kraków) crosses its centre and DK46 links to the Czech Republic (Paczków–Javorník border crossing, Moravia–Opava). Campsite prices: 50–90 PLN per night. Camper parkings — 40–70 PLN.
Opolskie is ideal for campervan travellers linking Wrocław to Kraków — stop for a weekend in Opole or on Lake Turawa. Regional cuisine: makówki, Silesian roulade, karminadle.
Less-known but campervan-worthy: Paczków with its medieval walls, Moszna with its neo-renaissance palace (365 rooms) and Prószków with a unique brewery chimney collection.
