Zakopane is Poland's winter and summer capital — the only town at the foot of the Tatras. For campervan travellers it demands planning: narrow, steep streets like Krupówki and Chramcówek are not built for large vehicles, and the town suffers a parking shortage. The best solution is Camping Pod Krokwią — a legendary site at the foot of the ski jump, a 15-minute walk from the Kuźnice cable-car station (entry point for Giewont and Kasprowy Wierch). Alternatives — Gubałówka Camper Parking (with Tatra views), Camper Park Olimp, POLE NAMIOTOWE Camp VILLA JUMPER. In the centre itself only short stops are allowed at designated lots (e.g. the Bus Station). From Zakopane you can reach all main Tatra trails — Morskie Oko (20 km to Palenica, then on foot or electric cart), Kasprowy Wierch (cable car from Kuźnice), Giewont, the Kościeliska and Chochołowska valleys. Beyond the Tatras, visit Zakopane — Tatra Museum, Villa Pod Jedlami, the Pęksowy Brzyzek cemetery. Zakopane has no CTZ — campers enter freely. At peak (winter break, July–August, long weekends) campsite spots vanish rapidly — book 3–4 weeks ahead.
