Campervan for remote work โ€” your mobile office with Starlink

Starlink Mini satellite internet, 500W solar panels, 405Ah batteries, Victron 3000W inverter. Work from anywhere โ€” a lake, mountains, seaside. From 500 PLN/day.

Why work remotely from a campervan?

The traditional office is dead for millions of knowledge workers. But working from home has its own trap โ€” the same four walls, the same view, the same routine. A campervan breaks that cycle completely. Imagine starting your Monday morning with a coffee by a lake in Masuria, having lunch on a Baltic beach, and finishing your workday watching the sunset from a mountain clearing in the Bieszczady. That is not a holiday fantasy โ€” it is a realistic work week when your office has wheels.

The biggest concern for remote workers considering a campervan is always internet connectivity. That is exactly why we equipped our MAN TGE with Starlink Mini โ€” SpaceX's satellite internet system that delivers 50-150 Mbps download speeds anywhere under open sky. No more hunting for cafe Wi-Fi, no more tethering to a phone with one bar of signal. Starlink works by a remote lake, on a mountain pass, in a forest clearing โ€” everywhere traditional internet fails.

But internet alone is not enough for serious remote work. You need reliable power for your laptop, monitor, and devices. Our energy system is overengineered for exactly this purpose: 500W of solar panels on the roof, 405Ah of LiFePO4 batteries, and a Victron Energy 3000W pure sine wave inverter. On a sunny day, the solar panels produce more power than you can use. On cloudy days, the batteries carry you through 2-3 full working days without any charging at all. The Victron system produces clean, stable power โ€” safe for sensitive electronics like laptops and monitors.

Digital nomad life in a campervan is not about roughing it. It is about the ultimate freedom โ€” choosing your environment every single day. Monday by the sea, Wednesday in the mountains, Friday at a vineyard. Your productivity will not just survive the transition โ€” it will thrive. Studies consistently show that exposure to nature reduces stress, improves focus, and boosts creativity. A campervan puts you in nature while keeping you fully connected to your team and clients.

Satellite internet

Starlink Mini โ€” internet anywhere

Starlink Mini is the compact version of SpaceX's satellite internet system, designed specifically for mobile use. Weighing just 1.1 kg and measuring 29 x 25 cm, it fits easily on the campervan roof or can be set up on any flat surface in seconds. No dish alignment needed โ€” it self-orients to find satellites automatically.

The system connects to a constellation of over 5,000 low-Earth orbit satellites, providing coverage across all of Europe. Unlike traditional satellite internet with its agonising 600ms+ latency, Starlink's LEO satellites orbit at just 550 km altitude, resulting in latency of 20-40 ms โ€” comparable to fibre broadband and perfectly adequate for real-time video calls.

Power consumption is remarkably low at just 30-50W during active use, which our solar and battery system handles effortlessly. The Starlink subscription is included in your rental price โ€” you do not pay anything extra for internet access. Just power on the campervan, wait 60 seconds for Starlink to connect, and you are online with speeds that rival urban broadband.

Energy system for uninterrupted work

Remote work demands reliable power โ€” there is no "sorry, my laptop died" when you have a client presentation. Our Victron Energy system is built for exactly this scenario. Three 135Ah LiFePO4 Energoblock Winter batteries (405Ah total) store enough energy to power a laptop, Starlink, phone charging, lighting, and a monitor for 2-3 full working days without any input from solar or alternator.

On the roof, 500W of solar panels (one 305W panel plus two 200W panels) generate substantial power throughout the day. A Victron MPPT charge controller maximises energy harvest from the panels. On a clear summer day, the solar alone produces 2-3 kWh โ€” far more than a full day of remote work consumes. The Victron MultiPlus-II 3000W inverter converts 12V battery power to clean 230V AC with a pure sine wave, meaning your laptop charger, external monitor, and any sensitive electronics receive exactly the same quality of power as from a wall socket at home.

The system has three charging sources: solar panels (primary), vehicle alternator (while driving), and 230V shore power (when parked at a campsite with hookup). The Victron GX Touch 50 display shows real-time power production, consumption, and battery state โ€” you always know exactly how much energy you have left. In practice, with solar panels, you will never run out of power during a workday.

Workspace

Your desk with a view

The campervan workspace centres around a Lagun table mount โ€” an infinitely adjustable, rotating table system that lets you position your laptop at the perfect height and angle. Two swivel captain's chairs with armrests rotate to face the table, creating an ergonomic workstation that many home offices would envy. The chairs are comfortable for 8+ hours of sitting.

USB-C and USB-A charging ports are built into the table area, so your devices stay charged without cable clutter. Two 230V sockets allow you to connect a monitor, a laptop charger, or any mains-powered device simultaneously. For developers and designers who need dual screens, you can bring a portable USB-C monitor โ€” the Victron inverter's pure sine wave output handles it perfectly.

FAQ

Remote work campervan โ€” FAQ

What is Starlink's internet speed in the campervan?
Starlink Mini delivers download speeds of 50-150 Mbps and upload speeds of 10-30 Mbps across most locations in Poland and Europe. That's fast enough for HD video conferencing, screen sharing, file transfers, and cloud-based work. Starlink works anywhere under open sky โ€” by a lake, in the mountains, or in a forest clearing.
How many hours can I work on batteries without charging?
The Victron energy system (405Ah LiFePO4 + 3000W inverter) allows 2-3 days of intensive work without solar or alternator charging. With 500W solar panels on a sunny day, you replenish energy in real time โ€” in practice, you can work without any time limits.
Can I run video conferences from the campervan?
Yes! Starlink Mini provides a stable connection with low latency (20-40ms), which is ideal for video conferences on Zoom, Google Meet, or Teams. The campervan cabin is well-insulated for sound, swivel chairs create a comfortable workstation, and large windows provide natural lighting โ€” a perfect backdrop for video calls.
Does Starlink work everywhere in Poland?
Starlink Mini only needs a clear view of the sky โ€” it works by lakes, in mountains, in fields, and at forest clearings. The only limitation is dense forest where tree canopy blocks the signal. In practice, just park in an open area or at the edge of a forest. Starlink works across all of Poland and Europe at no extra charge.
What does the workspace look like in the campervan?
The MAN TGE campervan has a Lagun table (adjustable, rotating), two swivel chairs with armrests, USB-C and USB-A ports at the table, 230V sockets for charging and connecting a monitor. Large windows provide natural light, and RGB LED lighting lets you adjust the atmosphere for work. You can connect an external monitor via a USB-C dock.
