Why a campervan for Easter?

Easter marks the true beginning of spring in Poland. After months of grey winter, nature awakens with an energy you can almost feel in the air. Forests fill with the scent of damp earth and fresh buds, meadows turn green overnight, and the first wildflowers — anemones, hepaticas, crocuses — carpet the forest floors. It is the season of renewal, and there is no better way to experience it than from a campervan parked in the heart of nature.

A campervan Easter is the antithesis of the traditional indoor holiday. Instead of spending days around a crowded family table in a stuffy apartment, imagine waking up by a silent lake, stepping outside to crisp morning air, and preparing Easter breakfast in your own mobile kitchen while birds sing their spring chorus. The kids can hunt for Easter eggs in a real forest instead of between sofa cushions. It is an Easter your family will remember for years.

Practical advantages are significant too. Hotels and agritourism properties in popular spring destinations are booked well ahead for Easter and charge premium holiday rates. With a campervan, accommodation travels with you — no booking stress, no check-out times, no overpriced holiday packages. Your bedroom, kitchen, bathroom, and living room are always right there, wherever you decide to stop.

The biggest concern for Easter campervan travel is temperature — and it is a valid one. Polish nights in early April can drop to 0-5 degrees Celsius. But our MAN TGE is purpose-built for this. The Truma D6E diesel heating system warms the interior efficiently and silently, running on the same diesel tank as the engine. The 405Ah battery bank powers everything through the night, and the 500W solar panels recharge them during the day even through spring cloud cover. You will be warm, connected (Starlink Mini provides internet anywhere), and completely self-sufficient.

Early April in Poland is also the quietest time of the year for outdoor tourism. Summer crowds have not arrived yet, campgrounds that are open are nearly empty, and even the most popular natural attractions feel like private discoveries. The Bieszczady Mountains, usually packed in July, are practically deserted at Easter. The Baltic coast, overrun in August, offers kilometres of empty beach. This is the time to see Poland's wild beauty without sharing it with anyone.

Top 5

Best Easter destinations by campervan

All reachable from our Szczecinek base. Times calculated by campervan.

1

Drawsko Lake District

30 min from base — 0 PLN transport

Just 30 minutes from our base in Szczecinek. In early April, the lakes are surrounded by silence, and forests smell of damp earth and first buds. The crystal-clear waters of Drawsko, Siecino, and Pile reflect the spring sky like mirrors. You'll encounter deer with fawns, storks returning from Africa, and cranes on wet meadows. The perfect place for an Easter escape from civilisation.

2

Kashubia

~2.5h drive

A region full of Easter traditions — from Kashubian painted eggs to regional holiday dishes. Scenic moraine hills, hundreds of lakes, and charming villages with wooden churches. In early April, Kashubian forests are carpeted with anemones and hepaticas. Kartuzy, Chmielno, Wdzydze Kiszewskie — every village has its own character.

3

Roztocze

~5h drive

One of the wildest places in Poland — perfect for an Easter reset. Roztocze National Park with Polish ponies (descendants of tarpans), Zwierzyniec, Szumy nad Tanwia — natural cascades on a forest river. In early April, the forest is still transparent, and light filters through branches creating a magical atmosphere. Zamosc — a Renaissance gem — is just nearby.

4

Barycz Valley

~3.5h drive

Europe's largest complex of breeding ponds — a paradise for birds and nature lovers. At Easter, thousands of birds return from wintering grounds: cranes, herons, storks, white-tailed eagles. Cycling and hiking trails among ponds and meadows. Milicz, Przygodzice, Odolanow. Peace, silence, and nature in its purest form.

5

Bieszczady Mountains

~6h drive

Mountains without crowds — at Easter the Bieszczady are practically deserted but accessible by campervan. Poloniny meadows dusted with remnants of snow, wild valleys, wooden Orthodox churches on the UNESCO list. Ustrzyki Gorne, Cisna, Wetlina — places out of a dream. Nights are cold (around 0 degrees C), but Truma D6E heating ensures comfort. Bieszczady skies free from light pollution are perfect for stargazing.

Spring is just getting started — trees are covered in fresh leaves and the air smells of renewal.
Is a campervan suitable for Easter when it's still cold outside?
Absolutely! Our MAN TGE is equipped with Truma D6E diesel heating, which maintains comfortable interior temperature even when it's near freezing outside. The 405Ah batteries and 500W solar system provide energy without grid connection. Polish Easter nights (around 0-5 degrees C) are no problem for our campervan — you'll stay warm and cosy.
How much does campervan rental cost for Easter?

What destinations do you recommend for Easter by campervan?
For Easter we especially recommend the Drawsko Lake District (30 min from our base — serene spring lakes), Kashubia (charming villages, regional Easter traditions), Roztocze (wild nature, silence), and Bieszczady Mountains (mountain panoramas without crowds). All these places in early April are practically empty — it's before the tourist season.
Can I pick up the campervan a day early (e.g. April 1st or 2nd)?
Yes, we definitely recommend picking up the campervan 1-2 days before your planned trip. It gives you time for a relaxed walkthrough, familiarisation with the vehicle, and an early start on the first day of your journey. Pick-up in Szczecinek is free, delivery to other cities for an extra fee.
