Campervan rental in Lodz

Lodz is Poland's third largest city with a population of around 670,000 residents, located in the very centre of the country. Once the capital of the textile industry, today Lodz impresses with its post-industrial atmosphere β€” Manufaktura complex, Piotrkowska Street, EC1 Science and Technology Centre, and the world-renowned Film School. Its central location makes Lodz an excellent starting point β€” Warsaw, Wroclaw, Krakow, Poznan, and the Baltic coast are all within 2-4 hours' drive.

Our base is Szczecinek (340 km, about 3.5 hours' drive via S11 and A2 roads), but for an additional fee we will deliver the MAN TGE campervan to Lodz β€” to Lask Airport, your hotel, or any other address. Call: +48 666 607 545 for a personalised transport quote and delivery scheduling.

From Lodz, you can head in every direction. Northwest, the A2 motorway leads to Poznan (2 hours) and on to Berlin. South, the S8 road takes you to Wroclaw (2.5 hours) or the S74 to Kielce and the Swietokrzyskie region. East awaits Warsaw (1.5 hours) and further to Masuria. North through Torun and Bydgoszcz reaches the Baltic coast. The Lodz surroundings also include Kolumna with the Lodz Hills Landscape Park and Spala β€” a historic resort in the heart of the Pilica Forest.

Practical tips for campervan travel from Lodz

In Lodz, campervan parking is convenient at large shopping centre car parks β€” Manufaktura (free), Port Lodz, Sukcesja. On the outskirts towards Zgierz, you can find quiet spots. Camping Pod Lodziom in Grotniki (20 km) offers facilities in a forested setting. Piotrkowska is a pedestrian zone β€” leave the campervan at a car park and explore on foot.

The best season is May through September, but Lodz's central location makes it a good starting point year-round. In summer, head to Masuria or the Baltic; in autumn, we recommend Swietokrzyskie with fall colours. Spring (May) is excellent for the Pilica Forest and Spala β€” blooming woods, silence, no tourists.

Practical tip: Lodz has an excellent network of exit roads β€” the A2 motorway (east-west) and S8, S14, S74 roads ensure fast exits from the city. LPG stations are available on every main route. Before departure, stock up at the large stores (Carrefour, Auchan) on the outskirts. Drinking water is available at campsites and Orlen fuel stations.
