Practical tips for campervan travel from Lodz
In Lodz, campervan parking is convenient at large shopping centre car parks β Manufaktura (free), Port Lodz, Sukcesja. On the outskirts towards Zgierz, you can find quiet spots. Camping Pod Lodziom in Grotniki (20 km) offers facilities in a forested setting. Piotrkowska is a pedestrian zone β leave the campervan at a car park and explore on foot.
The best season is May through September, but Lodz's central location makes it a good starting point year-round. In summer, head to Masuria or the Baltic; in autumn, we recommend Swietokrzyskie with fall colours. Spring (May) is excellent for the Pilica Forest and Spala β blooming woods, silence, no tourists.
Practical tip: Lodz has an excellent network of exit roads β the A2 motorway (east-west) and S8, S14, S74 roads ensure fast exits from the city. LPG stations are available on every main route. Before departure, stock up at the large stores (Carrefour, Auchan) on the outskirts. Drinking water is available at campsites and Orlen fuel stations.
