Gdańsk is the heart of the Tricity metropolitan area (Gdańsk — Sopot — Gdynia), one of Poland's most campervan-friendly urban clusters. In Gdańsk itself you'll find Camper Park Stocznia — a cult camper parking right next to the European Solidarity Centre and the historic shipyard, a 10-minute walk from Długi Targ. Another popular spot is Camper Park Politechniki Gdańskiej, a great base with tram access to Jelitkowo beach. On Stogi beach east of the port, a classic campsite provides direct access to the sea. Thanks to the A1 and S6 ring roads, approach is easy even for large campers. The Tricity offers SKM commuter rail linking all three cities — leave your camper at the campsite and reach Sopot or Gdynia in 20 minutes. Gdańsk has no Clean Transport Zone yet, so access is unrestricted. From here you can head to the Hel Peninsula (about 80 km), the Vistula Spit, Malbork (Europe's largest brick castle) and into Kashubia. A perfect launch point for a Baltic coastal campervan route.
