Campervan rental in Gdańsk

Gdansk is the historic capital of Pomerania, a city of over 470,000 residents with cultural riches that attract tourists from around the world. The Long Market, the Crane, Westerplatte, the WWII Museum — that's just the beginning. As the largest city in northern Poland with an international airport, Gdansk is a natural starting point for a campervan trip along the Baltic.

Our base is in Szczecinek (260 km, about 2 hours 50 minutes' drive), but for an additional fee we'll deliver the MAN TGE campervan directly to Gdansk. We can deliver to the airport, your hotel, or any specified address. Call +48 666 607 545 — we arrange pricing and delivery timing individually.

From Gdansk, head to the Hel Peninsula (about 70 km), Malbork with Europe's largest Teutonic castle (about 60 km), Kashubia with its lakes and hills, or west along the coast to Leba and Slowinski National Park. Gdansk is also the gateway to the Vistula Spit — a unique geographical formation with wild beaches. The terrain around the city is varied and attractive for campervan travel.

Practical tips for campervan travel from Gdańsk

In Gdansk, the most convenient campervan parking is at Sobieszewo Island — there's a campsite with full facilities and proximity to a wild beach. The car park at Westerplatte accepts larger vehicles. Stogi Campsite (Wydmy Street) is another option close to the sea. Avoid the Old Town with a campervan — narrow streets and restrictions for large vehicles.

The best season for campervan travel from Gdansk is May through September. July and August are peak season — hot, crowded, but the atmosphere is incredible. June and September are quieter alternatives with good weather. For the Hel Peninsula, off-season (June or September) is best — summer traffic jams on the only access road can be frustrating.

Practical tip: there's only one road from Gdansk to Hel — plan to leave early morning or late afternoon to avoid traffic. LPG stations are on the Tricity bypass. Drinking water is available at campsites and fuel stations. Before a longer trip, shop at the large stores on the outskirts (Auchan, Castorama).
