Greater Poland (Wielkopolska) is the cradle of the Polish state — Ostrów Lednicki, Gniezno (Poland's first capital), Kórnik with its castle and arboretum, and Poznań with its Old Market, Billy Goats clock figures and Christmas fair. The region is flat and well connected (A2 east–west, S5 north–south), making it ideal for a family campervan trip. Wielkopolski National Park (near Poznań), Puszcza Zielonka forest, numerous lakes (Powidzkie, Lednickie, Kierskie) and cycling trails along the Warta and Noteć rivers form the recreational backbone. Campsites are scattered but mostly open May to September — rates 60–110 PLN per night in season, 40–70 PLN off-season. Poznań has dedicated camper parkings on the outskirts with good transport to the centre. Campervan-friendly agritourism around Leszno, Kalisz and Konin is a popular option for travellers looking for quiet and a taste of rural life. The region is famous for St. Martin's croissants (11 November), pyry z gzikiem (potatoes with cottage cheese) and white borscht — excellent food stops for campervan travellers. The ”Piast Route” linking Gniezno, Poznań, Kórnik and Rogalin is a perfect history-focused campervan weekend.

Campsites in Greater Poland cost 60–110 PLN per night in summer. Camper parkings — 40–80 PLN. Campervan-friendly agritourism (hook-up, water, dump, breakfast) — 80–140 PLN. Poznań: 70–110 PLN for a camper parking on the outskirts.
Poznań has dedicated camper parkings on the outskirts (Malta, Wilda) — 15–25 minutes by tram from the Old Market. Parking a campervan in the centre makes no sense — paid zones, height restrictions, narrow streets.
The Piast Route: Poznań – Gniezno – Ostrów Lednicki – Biskupin – Kruszwica – Strzelno – Trzemeszno – Mogilno – Poznań. About 200 km, 3–4 days. Alternative: Poznań – Kórnik – Rogalin – Puszczykowo – Wielkopolski NP – Poznań.
Not in Wielkopolski NP or nature reserves. Outside them, the Lasy Państwowe ”Sleep in the forest” programme designates specific areas. We still recommend campsites on Powidzkie, Kiekrz or Lednica lakes — cheaper and safer.
Cassette dump stations are available at most campsites (near Poznań, Leszno, Kalisz) and at selected service areas on the A2 (Świecko–Konin) and S5 (Poznań–Wrocław). Full list on the map.
